Any ideas for an "alternative" wall mounted pot rack?
My home & kitchen are decorated in a Tuscan-inspired fashion. I like rustic stuff, maybe with a tiny bit of frou-frou, but not so scrolled-out that it looks like a gadget with a bad 80s perm. Ya know? I'm also on a budget - around $50. I really like to find alternative uses for things. (For example I have a tall wooden wine rack in our entry way with cubbies for the wine bottles....except we use it as a shoe rack for my kids' shoes.) I had thought of finding an antique or vintage style coat rack to use, but being it's a pot rack I'm afraid it would fall over. Also, if it's mounted, it needs to be wall-mounted as a ceiling mounted pot rack won't work in my space.

I don't know if its really an alternative, but in our kitchen (before we remodeled) we had our pot and pans hanging from the wall. We just bought some iron hooks (black and rustic looking) and nailed them into the wall with brass nails. It looked nice and was completely functional.
If you know of an antique store around, an old wrought iron gate might be neat with the pots hanging on S hooks.
