how can I put screws in concrete wall?
I live in Eastern Europe in an older apartment block. I want to put up a coat rack and curtain rods. However, the walls are so hard, and I do not own a power drill. Any ideas?

Try epoxy glue..their are several types that should do the job
Try to borrow a power drill, it's gonna be hard work without one.
Without a drill, you must glue it to the wall.
With a drill, they make concrete screws that work very well. You drill a pilot hole, then screw in the screw. They hold an amazing amount of weight.

How about using concrete nails.
Borrow a drill - Masonry bit, drill pilot hole. Guess you could try using hammer and nail to make a pilot hole, sure will be noisy.
Well, first off, DON'T use a standard drill bit! Use a concrete bit, a masonry bit! Drilling concrete will dull your standard bit in the blink of an eye!
Next, you MAY want to get a concrete drill! These drills will thump on the wall as you drill to aid you in getting to your target depth. That's about it! It's not going to be easy or cheap!
It's going to COST you if you want to do it this way! Maybe using the glue/epoxy idea someone else proposed seems like a better idea now! *grin*
You can also consider using anchors, but those demand BIGGER holes! Drilling concrete is NEVER a pleasant experience and should be avoided whenever possible! *grin*

Drill holes with a masonry bit, put in plastic anchors, and then put the screws in. Go to your local hardware store, and they can advise tou of what is best to use.
It's not a "concrete drill" it's a "Hammer-Drill".
Tapcons screws available in your hardware store and made for concrete. Predrill with a masonary bit 1 size smaller first ,then you can set the screw See if the store rents drills, some do
mount the coat rack to the back of the door, or get a coat tree stand. as for the curtain rods with out a drill maybe try to suspend them from the ceiling. good luck.
As stated prior TapCons are the way to go. You won't need a hammer drill, a regular drill will work just fine. You get a box of tapcons and they come with the correct size masonry bit. These are about $5 US.
IF you must use epoxy, ( 2 part) then remember that Applied Force = Pressure / Area so the greater the area the more holding power you have. And don't forget to clean the area well before applying.
